Padres 10 things we need to do, and this morning on 1090am

This am on 1090, David Wells said he wanted out of Boston and would do "anything" to play for the Padres next year. I'm mixed on this both ways.......if we dump Chan Ho and Woody, then I'd welcome Wells......but I don't want this pitching staff to just get older.

    1. Resign Hoffman & Giles
    2. we should make a run at AJ Burnett to shore up our rotation
    3. if that deal is on the table that involved Klesko and Finley... DO IT !!
    4. figure out how to dump Chan Ho
    5. DO NOT pick up Woody's 2006 option
    6. Pick up Loretta's 2006 option
    7. Sign Fick, Sweeney and Young for our bench depth
    8. Sign Seanez & Hammond asap don't let that Bullpen fall apart !
    9. Sign either Hernandez or move onto another Vet. catcher on a 2 year deal
    10. Think the direction of JT Snow for 1b.....he'll save so many errors for us

    Thoughts everyone ???

    5. DO NOT pick up Woody's 2006 option
That's already a done deal. It was contingent upon him making a specified number of starts...which he made

JT Snow is such a downgrade offensively from Nady or Klesko it's not even funny. From a team that has been struggling offensively the last few years, the last thing they need is a glovefirst 1B.

Wheras i'd like a good defensive first baseman, If I had to choose between defense and offense from our first baseman i'd choose the latter. Therefore, I give a big fat NO to the idea of JT Snow in a Padres uniform

But do we really want to find a replacement for Klesko just because he's better than Klesko?

I'd be willing to bet Ryan Klesko could out perform JT in offense...or at least match.

I'd take that bet, can you check Snow's #'s in Petco ? Klesko is done, hell maybe more than done.......he'll hurt his back by game 5.....or whine about it enough to be benched.........screw that guy.....time to move on and either eat his contract or allow him a chance to waive his no-trade

I'm all for hiring a better 1b than Snow.......but who ? Nady belongs in the OF not 1b, he'd be a solid LFer IMO........and has the arm for the position. Klesko is a horrific OFer, and not good enough to play 1b without being a masher. If his bat was still good, then you could put up with the defense, but he sucks on both sides now.....lets be real here guys

    1. You probably are not going to get Giles back. I am about 80% sure on that.
    2. Burnett is ok but he is a little ***** and Bohy isn't going for that.
    3. Klesko for Finley is just flat out stupid.
    4. Amen
    5. Done
    6. Should have been done in ST
    7. good guys to have on the bench
    8. Seanez yes, Hammond no
    9. Molina would be a better fit
    10. Snow would be great to have for any team. Move Nady to LF like Pads said and have a GG firstbaseman who would be a good number 7 hitter in that lineup. He hit well against the Pads and had a .313 with RISP.

If your first baseman is your number 7 hitter, that's usually a very bad sign.
