Klesko was met by Sandy Alderson about a month ago, during that meeting Klesko was told to either produce or he'd be benched, if benched he'd be expected to produce if called upon in whatever capacity, if he failed to produce off the bench he'd be traded, if he exercised his no trade at any point his contract would be bought out and he'd be released and not allowed to play for anyone else, until the contract is over of course..........effectivly ending his career........
It was shortly after that that he was benched..........we'll see what becomes of this former " power hitter ".........today on the radio Bochy said he would likely be moved back to first next season........ ugh

if what you say about Alderson's meeting with Klesko is true, then i'm extatic.
Of course that only bridges one of the two problems when it comes to trading Klesko.
Now they have to find some dope team that's willing to take on Klesko and his diminishing numbers to go with his 10 million dollar contract....without giving us an equal one in return. (otherwise trading him is pointless)
As far as Bochy stating he'll play 1st base, i'm assuming that's just him speculating what he'll do with Klesko under the premesis that he still has him next year...which is the case as of right now. Bochy has no control over personnel changes, so until he hears word that Klesko is gone (via trade or buyout) I don't expect him to publically make any statements that insinuates that Klesko wouldn't be part of the team...that wouldn't be a good thing if Klesko is still here next year.

Well this was a topic at that round table discussion I attended.......whether they hold to it is my only concern........he clearly didn't perform, and was benched....and clearly didn't perform off the bench......that leaves the trade or release........ weeeeeeeee ......... trading him to a team for a pack of smokes and assuming 5M of his contract would be worth it just to have the 5M left to work with..... could happen

in a minor move that doesn't deserve its own thread, the Padres signed Brian Sweeney to a minor league deal, also that Meaux guy they got for Blum.
