Poreda has to actually throw strikes to succeed at either role.

His WHIP is brutal no doubt, and control is something he does need to un****.....but he's got tremendous stuff, is only sporting a mid 2's ERA and is still what.....23yo ? So he's got plenty of time to solve his issues.......Hell Heath Bell took forever in the minors....I wont give up on this kid for at least 2-3 more years if he's being groomed for bullpen work, especially a Closer role....

....and whether he makes it or not is really immaterial to this discussion.....it's a heist either way.....if he makes it and becomes a regular contributor it's just icing on the cake for the Padres......if he's dealt in a trade for some piece they need down the road, and that guy contributes....same thing......

    This is a lopsided trade.......LOPSIDED
