mensrea: Love this bolded portion from MLBtraderumors: Los Angeles dealt one of the game's top catching prospects, Carlos Santana, in the Casey Blake deal in 2008. The 23-year-old Santana will likely make his major league debut this season.
fifthandlaurel: ...and for CASEY BLAKE. That can't be emphasized enough.
PadreHomer: Such a Towers move.
Once again, Casey Blake was brought in because Andy LaRoche and Blake Dewitt weren't cutting it at third base. The price of Santana was steep, I agree wholeheartedly and probably could have been avoided if the McCourts weren't such misers, but regardless, the deal made LaRoche expendable in the Manny Ramirez trade.
Santana + LaRoche + Bryan Morris
for
Manny + Blake
Ask Diamondbacks fans and Cubs fans if they thought those moves were insignificant to their respective 2008 season.
On the second thought, screw the favor. I'm just using your asshead friends as an excuse to offer my final word on the water under the ****ing bridge.
