    Re: Peavy Is Available

I got friends/family from the LA area, and they told me when they reffer to "LA" there not talking about LA the city, there talking about the county, and Anaheim does fall in the LA county area.

No, it does not fall in the LA county area.

    Anaheim is in Orange county.

It is, however, in the general "LA area"

See, I though Orange County was a name of a city, I didn't know it was just a "county"

When demographics calculates metro areas across the united states they include Orange County as a part of the "LA metro area"

No endless amount of smilies will alter this fact.

City of Orange ( and Anaheim ), is in Orange County.........which is bordered to the north by LA County, to the east by Riverside County, and to the south by San Diego County

Sounds like more East Coast bias to me

And if LA keeps sprawling, Rivertucky will soon be included in that......simple point of this exercise is that Anaheim isn't apart of LA or LA county........and again.....those are facts

    Re: Peavy Is Available

I am well aware of which cities lie in which counties, that still doesn't change the fact that Orange county (which includes the city of Anaheim) is a part of the "Los Angeles metro area"

hint: A "metro area" is not restricted to one county.

edit: Didn't see Giantsfan's post in regards to thinking "Orange County" was a city, thought you was talking to me in your response.

    Re: Peavy Is Available

Escandido is further away from San Diego than Anaheim is to Los Angeles.

This discussion would not exist if not for some arbitrarily defined line put on a map.

I actually first posted "metro area" back in post 7, long before you entered the conversation.

    So, to recap.

Fact: Anaheim isn't in LA County

Fact: Anaheim is a part of the LA metro area

Fact: Both Anaheim and Riverside are a part of the "Greater Los Angeles Area"

Fact: All this boo-hooing over labeling an average sized city that's 26 miles away from the 2nd largest city in the nation as being a part of that city's "general area" is pretty dumb.
