Put him in the 5th spot already? Even though he has pretty much zero experience above the AA level outside of that 2 week stint on the bench last year?

(I wouldn't mind seeing him called up and starting, though.)

I would rather see Headly stink it up then Edmonds and i would also start testing Crabbe in RF.

But it's not like Edmonds starting or Headley batting 5th are the only two options.

There are a lot of options but it's not like they like to bench veterans instead of young guys because they are making way too much money to have them on the bench except for Barrett but thankfully he got injured, i know it's aholeish to say but the Padres are better off without him.

    Jason Giambi is available.

I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Is Colt Morton doing that good?

Otherwise I don't think they're better off without Barrett.

the Pads already have like 30 million tied up with Maddux, Giles, Edmonds and Barrett and Giambi is making 21 million plus we already have Adrian for less and much better.

Barrett had a sub-par season last year that sticks out in Padres fans' minds because they're not used to watching games with him in it.

I'm not yet convinced the Padres are better off without Barrett unless Colt Morton performs better than Barrett's career averages.

(Or Damian Miller if that rumor turns out to be true.)

They were key especially when Rowand dropped the ball, the Pads had runners on 3rd and 2nd with no out, Bard and Germano struck out and then Giles a fly to LF.

Germano.....2 starts.....ZERO runs allowed.......even if this last start was against a horrible team......he still dominated the opposition.........good job Justin.....our lone bright spot in yesterdays trainwreck of a game.

I see you guys keep talking about Headley and Crabbe but what happened to the amazing Jody Gerut? McNaulty?
