Jake Peavy is a great pitcher as is Roy Oswalt.

Yup no run support by your 1-8 hitters, they got 13 hits, but only 2 runs, with 21 lob? When Peavy himself got half of his run support.

It's true...you can get as many hits as you want, but if you can't put the runs on the board, who cares.

4 runs will probably be enough to win almost all of Jake Peavy's starts, but people are acting like the Padres put up a dominant offensive performance...let's not kid ourselves here.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Well which is it ? No run support, or 2 runs ? Can't be both can it

And he said NO OFFENSE......not lack of run support......and 4 runs isn't a lack of either offense or run support

Generally speaking, 2 runs by your offense is not good run support.

Generally speaking if your offense only scores 2 runs, your not going to winning any games.

Yeah but they were facing Oswalt who isn't a slouch himself. It's not like they were supposed to rough Oswalt up for 5-6 runs or anything. They get Backe tonight, so it is expected that the offense will have a better day.

"No run support" doesn't necessarily mean "zero runs."

To stay in the division here, I've heard many times that Matt Cain got "no run support" last year...he obviously didn't have 0 runs scored for him in every game but he got low run support. I'm sure GF was just using it as an expression.

The Astros offense will not be the problem this year.

Hey, anyone doing a S3F RUNS GAME this year??

    Be happy with a split.

I was going to say the same thing when I saw that gibberish yesterday but figured why, it will only turn into a pissing contest over semantics. They had plenty of offense last night, just unfortunately left too many on base.

GF just like to come in and be negative to get a rise out of everyone, the act got old a long time ago.
