Darrel May vs Johan Santana...i'll shit bricks if the Padres win. But I figured if we had your blessing luck would be on our side

Although I was informed, but haven't looked it up to verify yet, that May's best ERA for stadium splits is in the Metrodome. (even though it's probably something like 4.21 though, lol)

Twins are lucky to avoid Peavy IMO.

If they struggle to hit Lawrence, how they are going to hit Peavy. Lawrence is pretty darn good and Peavy is better than Lawrence.

I won't be a happy camper if the Twins lose tommorow afternoon. In fact, I am very angry right now.

Frankly I don't understand the move... Darrel May pitched 5 2/3 innings on Wednesday, Peavy last pitched on Tuesday...yet they move Peavy to start against LA and have May start on 3 days rest against the best pitcher in the AL?

Makes absolutely no sense to me

It had to do with Eaton getting hurt from what I heard. Plus Bochy wanted his best starter for that big series against LA. I understand Bochy's thinking easily.

I know it was motivated by Eaton's injury...i just figured May would start against LA.

I somewhat understand the thinking behind it, but I, for one, wouldn't want my spot starter going up against the AL's best pitcher on short rest, even if that means putting him in to start a series against LA.

I wouldn't be questioning it if May didn't pitch 5 and 2/3rds three days prior.

This LA series could be make or break for the Padres though.

I am not a fan of moving the rotation around, but the first game of a series is important. I always believe in winning the first game of a series for a chance to win a series. I always stress the Twins to win the first game of a series all the time.

I heard Peavy might still be a little sick, so that may have something to do with it as well. If he needs an extra day to get over his illness, then i'm perfectly cool with it...to go along with the points you stress as well

How about the Dodgers? They got swept by KC and they are likely going to be swept tommorow night. If the Padres can take the series, I think LA is going to fade. We will see. I hate the Dodgers with a passion.

May has a 3.45 ERA in six previous appearances at the Metrodome.

"I really like pitching off the mound here," he said yesterday.

Peavy is 3-1 against the Dodgers with a 2.59 ERA in nine games.

Bochy, however, said the switch had more to do with Peavy's health. Peavy is less than two weeks removed from the upper respiratory infection that forced him to move back a start.

"Peavy can use another day's rest after all he's been through," Bochy said.

For thanking God that Peavy is sick, Darrel May is going to shock the world and pitch a perfect game tomorrow

Leo: What's your take on Mullholland? I have no idea why Lynch and patriot hate him. All TM has done is do a very good job for the Twins. You think TM will pitch till he is 60 years old?

honestly I didn't even know the guy was still pitching until today, lol. I haven't been able to follow the season all too well from the ship on the other side of the world.

If you can throw strikes with your left hand you can find a major league job till you're 98, so I'm not too suprised the guy is still going

Leo: You think TM will be a pitching coach for some team? I know teams will start calling for his service next year as a pitching coach. I think thE Twins need to sign TM to a sweetheart deal where he can stay as long as he wants. I think he is a great leader in the clubhouse and he is another guy that pitchers can turn to for help. TM has been a big reason why Johan, Joe Nathan, and Carlos Silva are great pitchers. Twins got lot of pitchers in the minors that are ready to be in the majors and I want to see my boy groom them.
