    Re: Offseason Farm Updates

PFF and I have our share of arguments via IM while we're both at work. We may not have them here, but trust me, we've gotten into each other on Jenkins and my "Hawaii's overrated" opinion.

Oh, what PFF didn't mention is he's getting ready to get his ass kicked on the golf course on Saturday. If he beats me, I already borrowed a co-worker's book of golf excuses, just in case.

It's not over yet, there's still 8:31 to go in the 4th quarter. I have to admit, Hawaii has looked awfully good, I'm impressed with Colt Brennan. His throws have been right on the money for the most part. A few of his TD passes have been so good.

No excuses tomorrow dude, I'm the only one allowed excuses.

I don't think he will, but I go back and forth with the thought of "is Edgar enough of a challenge for Antonelli or would Loretta put more pressure on him".

    Re: Offseason Farm Updates

This is from MadFriars.com on Chase Headley. The last paragraph was Headley's response when asked if he had heard the talk about him moving to left field....

“We’ll just play it out,” said Grady Fuson, the Padres’ vice-president of scouting and player development. “Chase may see some time in left field in spring training too.”

So what does Headley think of all the position change news and other rumblings?

“I haven’t heard any news on it yet, but I’m sure there are some rumblings going on,” said Headley. “Right now, I just got back into Knoxville and am working as hard as I can to get in the best shape I can and hopefully make the team out of spring training next year". - If that isn't confidence, I don't know what is. I like to hear that out of Headley, that he's going to bust his a** during the offseason and try to make the team out of Spring Training. I hope he does, I hope he impresses so much in left field that they don't have a choice.

I hope we have such a good LFer that he's allowed at least part of a season in AAA to learn to play LF before being brought up......

You have to hope for that too, but if he impresses enough during Spring Training, maybe he is a good option. If Headley has the speed and the glove to give us a good defensive outfielder, I'm game to have him in San Diego Opening Day.
