He's almost 70........I'm not sure he'll be looking for another managing job......if he did...........you're right.......he'd have no problem finding one.........but will he look for one ?

I can't imagine LaRussa managing the Yankees....an ego managing a bunch of other egos, yeah that'll work out well.

Shave a monkey down and give him the Yankee lineup.......I'd wager he could get them to the post season and bounced in the first round also

Torre has already said he is not done managing. He said he wasn't the type to move to Florida and do nothing. The Cards would love him and the Dodgers might look at him too. Why not get a HOF manager? If Jack McKeown can lead a team to a WS at his age, Torre can do it twice.

Then move to Florida and un**** the DRays

......and I don't think anyone believes he'd sit around and do nothing........I could see him getting back into radio broadcasting.......less stress, still around the game.......etc......after all he's old

Matty V, Mudcat and Joe Torre as the Padres TV broadcast team.

I know, I know, pipedream, but it was a fun idea in my head for a few minutes. He did get his TV start with the Angels, so I know he would consider coming back to So Cal. I think he'd be good doing baseball broadcasts with ESPN or Fox.

Leyland was in Detroit...........hardly the same as the NY circus...........

Again......as I suggested......if he wants to continue managing through his 70's...........he could go to FLORIDA and un**** the DRays..........no stress down there comparable to NY

If I'm Torre, ride off into the sunset, go enjoy your kids and your grandkids, go work for ESPN during the baseball season doing Baseball Tonight or select games.

    Re: Hire Joe Torre?

He could do that on Baseball Tonight. Pick against the Yankees every time a Yankees/Red Sox series comes up and he could base Steinbrenner all he wants at that point. How great would that be.

Not as great as managing an opposing team and beating him when he plays them.

BTW you are planning on a 6-6 season for Fresno State, right? at best 7-5.

No, Black did a good job but it would be better if they spend that money on players.

8-4 was my preseason prediction actually. Though, they still have tough games coming up. At home against Boise State and Kansas State and on the road at Hawaii. I think Hawaii is overrated, a lot of offense and no defense. Boise State isn't as dominating as they've been in the conference, and I think Fresno State can beat Kansas State, especially since they're playing at Bulldog Stadium.

If they can go 4-2 in their final 6 games, I think they're golden. I think they win their next 3 at home, assuming losses to Hawaii and Kansas State, then finishing with a win against New Mexico State.
