It'd be different if they gave him that contract in the offseason when someone better could've been had for the same price.

It's not like there was someone better they could've signed instead of trading for Engsberg.

I could care less how much money John Moores spends. The only reason I even care about salary sizes is because the money could be spent elsewhere if not wasted on certain individuals if they happen to be overpaid.

That's not really a factor here, so I don't really care that Moores has to pay more money for Ensberg than he did for Branyan, even if you are right about them essentially being the same player. (Which i'm neither agreeing nor disagreeing with here.)

I would agree with PFF, Zito goes down as the worst signing of the offseason. And the bad thing for the Giants is, everyone and their mother saw that coming.

It has been the worst signing thus far but let's give him more than one year. It's still off topic just like Giles for Jason Bay and Oliver Perez.

the Giles trade doesn't seem quite as bad anymore with Oliver Perez no longer being "the next Randy Johnson"
