I bet it was... I am really excited to have him on our team. I always admired Sr. He was always one of my favorite players when he was playing!!!

I have always liked the Padres. I remember in the late 80's or early 90's Yount almost signed with you guys. I remember being sad, but at the time I actually lived in SD. So, part of me was excited too!!!

We need two blowouts in our favor and one save in DC, then we can sweep and he can hit 500 at home

inching so ever closer, great job Trevor!!!

He may relax more on the road. At home he may press and not pitch as well. either way the Padre fans and all of baseball should stand up and cheer for this accomplishment!!!

One more to go. I need to watch closely in the next few days.

It's funny that ESPN continues to think that Rivera is the best closer of All Time, yet he's 81 saves behind Trevor...that's a FULL 2 SEASONS!!

They attach too much significance to his being a Yankee and his Postseason chances.I'm sure if Trevor pitched in NY or had as many Post Season save opps. he would get more credit.East Coast Bias strikes again

Mariano's a great closer, one of the best of all time.

Trevor as well, arguably the best, but who knows.

I choose to stay out of those debates now. They both should be first ballot hall of famers.

Rivera's postseason as well as regular season numbers are hard to argue with but Leo is right. Both are HOFers and there's no winning any debate. Congrats to Hoffman!!

Not to start a debate on this, and I'm not, but here's an interesting stat between Rivera and Hoffman.

    Career Innings Pitched:

    Rivera: 902.0

    Hoffman: 908.1

    Career Saves:

    Rivera: 419

    Hoffman: 500

My favorite and most unbelievable stat on both of these guys:

    Career ERA:

    Rivera: 2.34

    Hoffman: 2.70

That's absolutely incredible that both of these guys have ERA's under 3 and have had the careers that they've both had. The game will miss them both when they retire.

    CONGRATS TO HOFFMAN!!!

I was listening to Hoffman this afternoon on the Dan Patrick Show and after listening to Trevor, I am even MORE convinced he is one of the neatest guys in baseball!!

He seems like a genuine and fun guy!!!
