YES! Base hit by Giles. Gotta get off to a fast start if we want to have a chance against Carpenter.

WOOT!!! Gonzo bloops one, back-to-back hits! I have a good feeling about this. Going to get some runs right here.

    Bard draws a walk.

I love how Tim McCarver said "Chris Carpenter has good stuff tonight" right after retiring Dave Roberts to start the game, and since then, back-to-back hits and a walk.

If you are going to assume that Peavy is going to be on his game, yes, he is head and shoulders above the rest of the staff, but the fact is he has been hot and cold all year long with eye, tendonitis and other problems too and I do not believe that they have been totally honest with us about the eye problems. Four months to get a prescription filled? Even if he was having issues with his normal provider, he should have been able to easily been able to go to his doctor to get the prescription filled for him. Ya it would have taken a couple of weeks and cost more than the way he described, but he makes enough, the Team should cover it anyway and how on earth could a coaches call help anyway? Peavy has been and probably will be again the ace of the staff, but this year he has been having issues and I would say has been the third best pitcher on the staff behind Young and Woody and he probably will continue to stay there until he gets whatever his real issue is fixed, hopefully this off-season.

P.S. 1-0 all ready, 2 more and the odds are in our favor before we are out of the first

To whoever was concerned about the channel flipping, naw just do what I do, just do what I do, get a 50' screen with picture by picture capabilities with 2 receivers {I use satellite} and watch them side by side

    Another walk!

Carpenter breaking down. Loving it. McCarver says he has "good stuff tonight" and Carpenter doesn't do anything since then.

    Bases loaded again.

Woody better get it going soon because this is ridiculous. He's overusing his breaking ball. And now the bases are loaded with two outs.

AHGHHGHGHHGHH. Cards have time to get 2 runs home but the Padres mercifully end that dreadful inning by getting Belliard in a rundown.

YEAH BOY! Base hit for Brainy Branyan, too bad it comes with 2 out. Time for Cameron to deliver again.
