Yes Peavy gave up the HR, but there was a sequence of events that had to happen before he even got to throw the ball that should have stopped that mess from happening......are we casting blame on the first two who screwed the pooch also ? or just Peavy ?
Elite pitchers are supposed to put bad plays by their defense behind them and regroup/focus. They can't just lose their composure when their defense makes a costly error. Granted, Peavy didn't look like he "lost" his composure per se, but he didn't pitch well after the Piazza miscue.

COME ON GUYS
Kash.....he's 25 and still learning......he put up 10 starts with fewer than 3 runs given up and lost them this year......he's got no reason to think that anyone on the team is going to help win games while he's on the hill.......while that is the wrong way to think, it's understandable....
Who has said he's an elite pitcher anyway ? Tops on our team, toward the top of the list in the NL, but is he even top 10 in MLB ? Probably not....so I wouldn't place him among the elite
