    Oh my f**king god.

I'm sorry for cursin, but I almost just vomited. This is the worst loss of all time. Our ****ing hitters gave it everything they could.... EVERYTHING, and we can;t get a ****ing out. This is the worst loss of all time... we don;t deserve to make it to the playoffs after this, and I can guarantee you we won't win the division now after the confidence boost this team will have.

Nice going Atkins, Hoffman, Peavy, SEANEZ.

The only loss that even comes to mind even haplf as bad as this was the one to the Yankees in '04. I'm sick.

I knew someone was going to say it. I just posted it in the gameday thread.

Yep, because the other 161 games are unimportant. Because the Padres lost a game in horrible fashion on September 18th they don't deserve the playoffs.

I vomit at your lack of confidence.

Since OBBF logic dictates that a horrible come-from-behind victory by the opposition in one solitary game in a 162 game season dictates that said team does not deserve to go to the playoffs I submit that the Dodgers also do not deserve to go to the playoffs after that horrible display on April 30th when they held a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the 9th, only to lose 6-5

Of course we deserve it still, but I'm just completely sick right now. I don;t know how to explain it... perhaps it's ebcause I live in :LA and deal with these ahole turd fans daily, but I just can;t see us winning the division now. Oh my God, the agony... seriously, i feel horrible.

They're still 0.5 games back in the division and are leading the wild card. After the dust settles from this game and after people calm down a bit, they'll see the big picture. The Padres will rally together and make their way into the playoffs stronger than ever before.

one last note before I (maybe) go to bed. (I'm at work, watch in a few hours...)

Before my passion and loyalty comes into question due to how non-chalant I seem to be... and believe me OBBF I understand how you feel, despite my sarcastic retorts... I marvel at my ability to get my cool after something crazy happens.

Believe you me I think I might have to go to medical and have them check on my hand after how much I punched my desk today.

But I then took a minute and shrugged it off upon realization that regardless of the score or the circumstances that brought us here, it's still only one solitary loss in the w/l column.

We'd be in the same situation right now had they lost 1-0 in an oustanding pitcher's duel, both teams playing sound baseball.

you don't have to explain it, I know how you feel.

I just felt the need to keep you in check.

Once you calm down you'll realize it's not as bad as that horrible loss makes it look.

^ True on paper, but losses like this could end up taking a huge toll on the players, physically and mentally. It's a huge blow mentally, that's for sure.

I certainly believe we will rebound and prosper from this loss perhaps, but that doesn;t change the fact that the Dodgers are going to be EXTREMELY hot now. Things like this always cause huge chain reactions and spirit for a team... I don;t want the wild card, I want the damn West! I HATE THE DODGERS. I F**KING HATE THE DAMN DODGERS, I DO NOT WANT THEM TO WIN ONE GAME, LET ALONE MOST OF THE REMAINING GAMES.

On the bright side, I was very inspired and touched by our offense's heart. Seriously every batter (besides Roberts) really contributed tonight, and it's hopeful for the playoffs to think that they can come through that clutch when they need to in dire times (which are surely abound in the playoffs.

it could, but if the players are worth their salt it won't.

I won't deny what it could do for the Dodgers, though.

But the Padres could still overtake them anyways, despite that.

And if they don't they still have a firm grasp on the wildcard. Phillies lost today.

Guys it's not just one game........it's one horrific loss in crunch time......it's nolonger just one game, it's must wins, and hold all leads, and finsh the job. The offense shows up, and the starter blows chunks.......the offense bails the starter out and the bullpen blows chuncks........the offense bails the bullpen out, and the bullpen blows chunks again.....this is far from just one game....this is the kind of game that is a morale crusher, whether you want to admit it or not........this was as bad a loss, and as bad a time for this kind of loss that could have happened....If this happens in Apl. then yes it's just a loss, but this kind of thing can't happen in late Sept. without some fallout....it just can't.....I just hope that since we're playing two crap teams we can rebuild our confidence before we get to StL......but AZ plays us so tough that it's going to be an uphill battle...

If the Padres players let this loss end their season then F%CK THEM and they don't deserve to be in the playoffs.

It was heartwrenching, but it's just one loss and they still split the series, and, as a whole, have owned the Dodgers all year.

Congrats to the Dodgers on pulling off a miracle of miracles, but they still own a pitiful 5-13 record against the Padres this year.

Would still be nice to win the division instead of the wild card though, so that you can face the limping Cards in the NLDS and not have to travel all the way diagonally across the country to play the Mutts in New York.
