they charge because the "double header" wasn't planned and is simply a game being made up.

I'm sure if they actually scheduled a double header it wouldn't carry an extra charge.

That aside, I do wish they would schedule double headers every so often.

double dips were great....a whole day of fun under the sun watching baseball....how can that get any better..... with a tailgate inbetween....BBQ, beers oh yah.....

I do think they missed the boat with Petco and tailgaiting...they essentially killed the idea of it..... boooo

you can still tailgate....I did...it's just tough to find the spots.

But that's the price you pay when you build the park downtown.

Well I don't think anyone expected it to completely go away....and now if you leave anything out, like your BBQ to cool down, you know it's going to get stolen....You also can't take over 2 or 3 spaces and sprawl out and have a party....it's just far from what it was....they killed the idea of tailgating.....

Only bonus is that there are many places to eat and liquor up prior to going in now....so it is what it is.....but we used to tailgate most games, and every Sunday game.....now it's off to Freds for taco's and huge cheap beers ...weeeee

oh I know, tailgating is obviously far and away not what it could be with a big parking lot like at the Q.
But that's the price you pay for a downtown ballpark...there's no way you can get a sizeable parking lot downtown (hence all the parking "issues" as well.)

As much as I like tailgating, though, I like even better all the "places to get liquored up" right by the ballpark even better...so it works out well for me.

I'll leave the tailgating for football, and the occasional get-together for a baseball game like I did about a month ago.

I can live with that.........and agree with everything but the "parking issues"......I have run into exactly zero......it's very easy in / out...and I'm very happy with the parking ( other than lack of tailgating )

oh wow. I was just going off what I hear others talk about.

I, myself, never have parking issues as I always take the trolley to the game.

I drive down about 2 hours early, park at "Park it at Market" pay $10 for all day parking, and go eat, shop, walk, or head to the game.....when it's time to leave....there are so many streets leading to frwy's, and all are regulated by lights, that it's pretty smooth.....at least in the 2.5 years we've had no problems...this included the playoffs...WBC etc.....

    Re: Old School.

    Wellam,been a minute since I popped in,Place looks greeat..
Lets start at the begining.DoubleHeaders were indeed 2 games for 1 Price, and they were scheduled, and had maybe a 40 min between games break.Since your SP's went 9 innings or more,EVERY START, you didnt need to worry too much about using 12 pitchers on the whole day. The players liked it, the Fans Loved it..So, that leaves 1 group to ruin it.
The same Brainstormers that brought you Chicago's "Disco Record" night.
The Same Genious(? irony) that fired the KGB Chicken. Then hired him. Then Lost him.
The same "Business" guru that paid A-Rod.
When WE support chicken shit wanna be players that ended up owning teams, we had to know we were gonna get screwed.
I can name you so many cool, and utterly useless, peices of Baseball trivia, but the 1 that really sticks in my mind, is the Last time I went to a Major Lg Park.
2001, sometime after Sept 11th games resumed.
In Seattles new,Citizen disapproved but paid for park.
The stadium we got stuck paying for, but whom Owners sold to SafeCo. INS. for millions.
I Love the game and would like to go, but you know, I dont have the time to make any Passion for it.I dont instill it upon my kids, either, and thats doubly sad.
When Americans FINALLLLYY get mad enough to slap down the Congress and Senate for the 30+ Years of robbing us while stuffing thier own pockets, and retirements, MAYBE someone will also stand up and demand that Sports, and ALL entertainment, needs to back right up,sit right down, and rethink "entitlement".

Besides that, I sure hope Trevor stays, and it looks sorta bleak to me right now..Go BoltZ
