Why are you guys so down on this team? They've won 5 in a row with clutch hitting, and consistant pitching, yet you're begging for Klesko to come back? Yes Adrian is having quite a slump, but we're not 2 months into the season yet, let's give him some time. Plus, Bellhorn has been filling that hole in the offense with a big 3-run HR 2 nights ago and has been consistant at the plate since he's become a starter.

I'm not so much down on the team as not interested in pumping up lack of production across the board...... once again.......timely hitting is what we've gotten so far, which is great, but consistancy is what is needed for the long haul.....Bellhorn was 1-5, thank GOD his 1 was a HR.....Greene is tearing it up with a .204 BA, thank god his hits are HR's.....

If you look at this team, they are starting to play better, but they still aren't firing on even half their cylindars......team BA on the road is good, at home is pathetic.....pitching is doing a good job, but we MUST score consistantly to have any chance of contending.......

we rank 28th in team BA.....
    and 26th in Runs scored.......
    and thats truly RANK !!!

I, for one, don't really care what our rank is in any category. As long as this team continues to pile up wins, and not just for one month, but if they can keep this momentum throughout the rest of the season, I could care less what our rankings are in those categories. The Yankees will probably be the top team in a few categories at the end of the season, but if they don't win the W.S., what good did that ranking do them?

stats don't give you wins, but they are usually a good barometer of how a team truly is playing.........luck is nice......luck might win a couple games.......but luck wont get you through a season

the stats are bad due to what they were doing (or NOT doing) before the hot streak started.

I'll hand you that it's still a small sample size, but the most current events has the Padres hitting on all cylindars. And don't knock on our hottest bat (Bellhorn) just because of one 1-5 game in the middle of it. (Although you'd be dense to not expect him to cool off eventually.)

All that aside, let's see if the momentum and the opening of the offense continues on into PetCo.

knocking a hot bat, simply pointing out that he's not hot just making his one hit count.... Hot is going 3-5 with a single, double, HR and 3 RBI

    Giles .300
    Roberts .280
    Greene .280
    Castilla .270
    Piazza .280
    Cameron .300 ( due to fewer AB's )

is that starting from the last home game against LA or all season? Because I was refering to the current winning streak, not all season.

If it is just durring the winning streak then perhaps I stand corrected.

at the end of the year these BA might be down further than what I just posted, but they should all still have the beginning of the year inflation to them.........we're not firing on all cylidars, and it's just crazy to me that someone could actually think that..... We've won 5 in a row, that's great for us, but be realistic about how we won those games would ya.........We can't live and die by the HR.......this team isn't even close to that good......we need to manufacture runs and they are NOT doing that.....IMO

Piazza .280??? lol ... .250 for Piazza is about as much as you can hope for. His bat speed is sloooooow.

    Roberts more like .260

and, quite frankly, i'd be astonished to think that you'd think I'd actually suggest they've been "hitting on all cylindars" all year long...
