    Padres Battle for 1st base....

Well it appears that Klesko is starting to pull away in this race...... Walter Young gave him a run, but has fallen off pace as of late...... Young who came out mashing has gone cold.......while Klesko who came out cold is heating up and starting to hit........he still has yet to go deep, but his OBP is above .400, which isn't too shabby.........The one ? remains with Adrian Gonzalez, who was off playing in the WBC, and didnt' exactly light it up........so we'll see.....

Any thoughts on who you'd rather see starting, payroll aside ?

Klesko hasn't gone deep? Nah, never. Adrian really screwed himself going to the WBC.

I think you're right about Gonzalez........he had a prime opportunity to become a starting 1bman this spring.....and instead he ran off to the WBC only to bat something like .225 for the tourney........ugh

    2B-Barf
    SS-Greene
    3B-My Cousin Vinny
    LF-Roberts

    that looks about right.

You may as well put Piazza/Mirabelli at C, though

Piazza will see the most time behind the plate, but Mirabelli will see enough to warrent noting him in the projected line up.

Of course that was the case and it was dumb. Mexico is going to get him the big bucks and playing time in the MLB. Prospects would have been wise to stay at home and impress MLB coaches except for the teams that didn't have that many players like the Netherlands and S. Africa. Mexico had plenty to choose from.

wasn't saying I disagreed with you in that it would've been wiser for him to not go to the WBC. I was merely pointing out that his reasoning for making his decision had more to do with simply being "young, dumb, and full of cum"

Gonzalez has been on fire and went 4-5 today with 2 RBI. Look's like you find a first baseman, at least for April.

Why only for April? Don't think he can keep it up in the .290-.300 range throughout the year?
