I gave up on the CHargers when they sent Junior away.....and now I Hate Football......

Well if this city doesn't pull it's head out, the Chargers are going to let us all off the hook like the Clippers did, and move.......not looking very promising right now........especially when Sanders said NO to building a stadium in San Diego and lifted a portion of the agreement allowing them to look in other parts of the county......O-side Chargers.....hmmm

I'd prefer the Chula Vista option.

    You haven't heard about that?

Yeah, and they were also talking about this super high speed train that would transport people back and forth in like 30 minutes.......

A well unknown fact.....Imperial County used to be a part of SD County, until 1906.....and no I don't remember that.......it was well before my time.....

    Padres

They're not moving the airport during our time if at all. The reason I love flying into San Diego is for the great view you have of balboa park and everything else as your landing.

This thread is not where I heard about this but I saw this tonight and I wanted to alert you that this is VERY real. There is an actual committee made up of dignitaries from the region who have met and continue to meet to discuss this. Sure it is a decade away if ever, but it is a real discussion.

Only problem with Chula Vista instead of O-side is that you cut your foot off to spite your face for possible market. If you place the team in O-side, you will gain everything in south orange county & south riverside county as well as keep San Diego county......South Bay & El Cajon Valley will suffer from a long drive, but that's it..........if you place the team in Chula Vista, you negate south orange county & south riverside county and make it a long drive for North County San Diego. I personally agree with you, that I'd like to see it stay as far south as possible......but if you're thinking from a team marketing stand point, it just doesn't make as much good sense.....the con's outweigh the pro's if you put the team in south bay...

You're right.....it is a very real discussion, they've talked and been talking about a Miramar Air Base conversion, El Centro, Temecula Valley & I'm sure many other places.......fact is they are running out of space in Point Loma and need to do upgrades and restructuring if they want to make it a high quality, top notch, international airport

    Padres

Someone enlighten me....why the hell is the Gov in Texas trying to screw over San Diego? Why would he not be down here trying to get this whole thing with the Chargers resolved instead of throwing gas on the fire?
