Thread: Trade COL-CWS

  1. #16
FWIW, DD did not vote, but it wouldn't have mattered if he vetoed or not.

And how a person runs his team and how he judges trades are two different barometers.

If bwitty proposed this to me and I had the prospects/players and all would I do it? Not sure, I hate taking on bigger older contracts (Larry Broadway is the biggest risk I took there), even though I can afford it. Judging the trade, it looked fair to me.

Exactly. He threw a fit over the trade of Shane Victorino for marginal prospects. That it is not to say that he is wrong, but it looks like the same barometer to me.

It's like that sickening feeling the real life AL goes through when the yankees have just gone out and literally bought themselves more allstars... poor Porter and Dam.

I regretted that trade last season as Moxley never developed and Kleckner had a 600+AB season of .600 OPS magic. Ugh.

Dave has been a fair council member and everyone on the council makes very clear why they believe a deal should not be passed.

This winter has certainly been more of a sellers market than I would have thought.

Lucky for me, and some others, it helps me rebuild and get solid value out of guys that, in a slower market, otherwise you wouldn't get.

As I said in an earlier post, the NL is certainly 10 times more powerful. I eagerly await this season, if nothing else to see who prevails in that league.

It's clear that the NL has stronger teams, as a result of some trades, some young talent coming up, and some GMs genuinely becoming better over time. Several of the AL teams are rebuilding, so don't doubt that Dave and McKain will make the AL just as good soon.

Of course, my division kinda skews things.

The AL West is so bad, I could have gotten 81+ wins in it last year.

I would dominate the AL West right now.
