So 3 years 13 MIL for the same pitcher I had a few seasons back (plus 1 on the control... 5-9-8 compared to 5-10-8 of Polson) in Phillip Padro (who with the 1 difference in control and a prone injury rating was rated at his highest as a 2.5 star, and usually as a 2 star SP)???
Hey... pay anything you want for any player you want... no skin off my arse.... I personally think 13MIL for basically Philip Padro with a slightly better set of reading glasses and some stick'em on his fingers was a bit much (6th highest salary in the league)

Phillp Padro is also got an ERA 1 run higher than Melvin Polson (who isnt that far off the top 25. Pardo has had one season with ERA under 4.1 ERA while Polson has had 4 season under 4.1 (well one is at 4.1, but 2 others were just a hair over).
Current FA SP Signees Career ERAs and WHIP:
Belizario - 2.97 ERA, 1.08 WHIP
Zimmerman - 3.74 ERA, 1.34 WHIP
Sam Rodriquez - 4.16 ERA, 1.20 WHIP
Matt Allen - 5.10 ERA, 1.45 WHIP
Andre Agosto - 4.29 ERA, 1.33 WHIP
Tessier - 4.24 ERA, 1.36 WHIP
Josh Johnson - 4.19 ERA, 1.29 WHIP
Kenneth Stenson - 3.72 ERA, 1.28 WHIP
Melvin Polson - 3.77 ERA (4th), 1.28 WHIP (T-4th)
And for the hell of it....
Pardo - 4.68 ERA, 1.48 WHIP
Don't compare Pardo to Polson. Its not even close and I've had them both for multiple seasons.

Porter.... we're talking ratings.... which is what we have to go on.... I doubt that past history, determination, etc is really used in calculations by OOTP

There has to be calculations for clutch, and injury prone, etc... but there has to be numer ratings for attributes... with almost all simulators, past performance has little to do with future... it is all about the ratings

OOTP 6.5 has 4 "setup" screens. One of them is "engine setup". One section of that screen is "player evaluation A.I. setup". This section is composed of four categories: 1. player ratings with a % rate that can be manually set. The other three settings are the past 3 years statistics with a % rate that can also be set. I believe most online leagues are set to 65% ratings, 25% last years stats and 10 % the year before's stats and 0% for the year before that... Obviously the Commishe could set it as he wishes...
