Thread: The Rod Beck Memorial Thread

    The Rod Beck Memorial Thread

OK, this one is a little bit different.

As most of us know, Rod "Shooter" Beck died at the age of 38 earlier this week, well before his time. He was mostly known for his facial hair and bulky stature, but everything I've heard is that he loved nothing more than the game itself. He was always nice and generally a kick ass guy to hang around with.

So, this is how it will work. You bet on the category as listed, such as "My Relief Pitcher Will ________", and then you post your relief pitcher. If your pitcher does what you bet on, you win. The odds will be based on Beck's stats and other notable facts.

For instance, if you make a bet and choose "Joe Nathan", and Joe Nathan does what you bet on, you win.

Sorry if this is confusing, but the simple thing is this

    A. Pick a Relief Pitcher
    B. POST the name of that RP
    C. Bet on whatever bets you think that RP will fulfill

You can only pick one RP to wager on. No refunds if he doesn't pitch

You lay your bet down in the given categories, you just tell me the name of your pitcher.

Where is "My reliever will attempt to come back through the minors, bring a trailer with him and let fans or whoever shoot the breeze and have a beer with him outside of the stadium at his trailer?"

I guess it's a bit long, but still really cool.

We all know Beck is unique in that regard, and if I put "kicks more ass" in the intimidating bet, it woulda worked.

Hey Fish I totally misread your post, I thought you meant a closing pitcher, so my bad, I havent placed a bet yet, can I change it to Randy Messenger?

    Results:
    Pitch: WIN (100 + 109 = 209)
    Hit: Win (100 + 237 = 337)

    Using my 3K insurance...

And my pitcher is Brian Fuentes(god if his back spasms **** with him again...)

    Fuentes: DNP
    Winnings: 0
    Insurance: 3000

Overall: 3000 (but 3000 is taken out from the bet, so you come out flat)
