    MLB All-Time Survivor: First Base

I ran one of these at another site a few years ago and thought it would be fun to do it here. I am going to post the names and some stats of the all-time greats at each position. The list will include retired greats, HOF'ers, and a few current players. I am using active players stats coming into this season. You will vote to eliminate players until there are only 2 left. Then you will vote for who will be starter and who will be backup. I will keep it all in this thread instead of posting a new one every round. This first post is for statistically information about the players for use in voting. The 2nd post will be kept updated with the player list and list of eliminated players.

As much as I like Hrbek, he isn't a HOF'er and is not among the all-time greats statistically. Being a HOF'er is really the only reason Chance is even in there.

I guess I'll go with Hernandez. Some of the least impressive numbers of the guys with similar playing time.

    Voting stands at:
    Hernandez-2
    McGwire-2
    Palmeiro-2
    Thomas-1
    Greenberg-1
    Kelly-1
    Chance-1

If there is no tie-breaker vote by this evening I will pick between those that are tied.
