    Cool, I'll check it out.

As for me, I just finished reading Naked Lunch (the restored text version, which is the first time I read it.)

I've been buying more books that I can read over the last few months so thankfully I got a nice variety to pick from for the next one I start.

John Dies at the End by David Wong

Known about it for years, and it finally got picked up by a big publisher. Will scare the shit out of you:

    EXCERPT:

We kicked through the slithering things and stomped up after the dog, just as the stairwell door banged shut on its own. I reached for the knob.

At the same moment it began to melt and transform, turning pink and finally taking the shape of a flaccid penis. It flopped softly against the door, like a man was cramming it through the knob hole from the other side.

I turned back to John and said, "That door cannot be opened."

Jeez Saber, you and me could read our books (John Dies at The End and Naked Lunch) at the library to a group of local school children and really traumatize some little minds.

I just read The Timewasters Diaries (quick read even though it was about 350 pages) and I started Seasons In Hell, all about the '73 to '75 Rangers, which I am enjoying a lot so far.

Seasons In Hell was hilarious. If you love gonzo journalism and books that combine snark with baseball, it's for you. Great great read.

I started Cannery Row last night by John Steinbeck, God that man could write. I always wanted to read it and it hasn't disappointed so far.

    The Collectors by David Baldacci.

Nothing like a good old story about three murders being linked together, political scandal, book collection and con artists.

This is what happens when National Treasure and Ocean's Eleven mixes in with some Washington DC stuff.

I just finished that book mission. It leaves it open to a follow up book. I have to search for that one.

Just finished reading The Road. Definitely recommended. It isn't a hard read and it is real cheap to pick up the paperback.

Re: What book are you reading?

Finished "The Worst Team Money Could Buy", all about the '92 Mets. It was pretty interesting as it was really written from the perspective of the beat writers, bringing up some things that I normally wouldn't have even consider.

I think I am going to read some Kerouac next, but I am not sure.

Re: What book are you reading?

I am reading a few books right now. I hate it when I do this; because I jump around a lot. Anyhow:

    Appolyon (Left Behind Series)

The Story (The stories from the bible put in order to flow like a story in a non jump around timeline. Makes it read like a non fiction book would normally read.)

The Final Move Beyon Iraq (an interesting take on the war right now, scary stuff).

Re: What book are you reading?

Finally finished Big Sur by Jack Kerouac. I really enjoyed it, even though it took me some time to get through it (not because of the book itself, just being busy.)

Re: What book are you reading?

I finished Ball Four this weekend. A great baseball read. I'll probably start a thread sometime about it, I really enjoyed it.

Anywho, I am reading A Confederacy of Dunces right now.

Re: What book are you reading?

A Confederacy of Dunces was phenomenal, I laughed out loud several times. Great prose, character interactions, and it pulled all the stories together masterfully. Recommended.

Just started Flash Forward, the book the show is based on. Lines like "three-dimensional Windows 2009" gives me teh lols.
