Strikeouts mean nothing at all. They are just another Out. Statisticians have proven that beyond a doubt.

BB are a part of OPS(On-base percentage plus slugging percentage)

Those who use only BA are those who really don't get it, since BA weighs all hits the same weight, when obviously a HR with three runners on base would score more runs than a single with runners on base. Also, even when someone isn't on base, it's better, because if a hitter leads off the inning with a Double, the chances of a team scoring are much greater than if a player leads off an inning with a Single.

A hit is better than a walk. A flyout is better than a strikeout.

umm, wrong. strikeouts are not good. if no one is on sure, they are just another out. BUT not with runners on base.

Misguided opinions that aren't backed up by facts aren't good things.

The Reds lead the NL in Runs Scored and Strikeouts. Stunning, isn't it?

While a strikeout prevents the possible positive outcome of a sac fly or sac hit, it also removes the negative outcome of a double play. Duh.

Double plays seem to happen more than sacrifices, too.
