Keisler was sent down and Mike Rouse was called up. I didn't see yesterday's game, but apparently Crosby was hurt. He had x-rays and they came back fine. He is not in tonight's lineup though. Chavez and Kotsay are off, too. I guess we're throwing this game in. Payton is in center, Scutaro at short, Rouse at second, and Perez at third. Dan Johnson is not in the game either. Swisher is at first.
INSIDE THE SERIES: A'S TAKE THREE FROM YANKS
• Outscore New York 17-12; trailed for only two innings
• First Oakland sweep at Yankee Stadium since 1994
• Street saves all three games
• Barry Zito snaps seven-game losing streak to Yankees
per espn.com
dunno bout you guys, but tha's hot
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!
The 2074 MSL NL Gold Glove Recipient at Third Base.
it all balances out somewhat relating to Zito. The offense hasn't helped him out quite a few times and they finally bailed him out the last 2 starts. He pitched well enough to get the win last time against the Yankees...we lost 2 - 0.
Street has actually saved 4 games in a row.
5 saved games in a row.
Duke may be back at the end of next week and Kennedy still has no timetable.
according to Elias (from ESPN.com):
• The Athletics completed a sweep at Yankee Stadium with Huston Street notching a save in each of the three games. Street retired all nine batters he faced in the series, setting down the side in order in the ninth inning of each game. Over the last three seasons (since 2004) the only other pitcher to earn a "perfect save" (retiring every batter he faced) in each game of a series sweep (of at least three games) is Joe Nathan (vs. Tampa Bay at the Metrodome in August 2005).

"We're aware of the incident and it's an ongoing legal matter," Oakland assistant GM David Forst said after the team's 7-2 victory over Seattle on Wednesday night. "We will have no further comment. We will let the legal proceedings play out."
Loaiza, 1-3 with a 6.89 ERA, was scheduled to start Thursday against the Mariners. It will be his second start since coming off the disabled list.
Loaiza signed a three-year, $21 million contract with the A's in November after playing with the Washington Nationals in 2005.
Well he sure is making an impression.I'm so glad that Loaiza pick you guys instead of the Giants, i've never liked Loaiza, he's only had one good year in 2003 with the White Sox. That's why i can't belive that he was Sabean first choice.

Two good years (2003 and 2005), but yeah, Loaiza go boom

Then out of fairness to the others you will be Slagathor.
With his struggles on the mound this year, combined with the amount of talent at pitcher in the A's organization, does anyone want to hedge a bet that Loaiza could be designated for assignment? I'm sure the A's have had enough with his poor performance, like the Indians did with Sauerbeck, and now with problems off the field, he could find himself searching for a job. Thoughts?
No, I don't think the A's would want to eat 9 mil in signing bonuses. maybe a trade.
