    1988 wins game 3 by a score of 3 - 2 with a run crossing the plate in the bottom of the 10th. Dye knocked in both runs for 2001 including a solo homer. Canseco knocked in the winning run. Mulder went 9 and 1/3 in a losing effort. Eck gets the win. Bob Welch was player of the game holding 2001 to 2 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings.
