He also had 2 no decisions in the 1913 vs. 1914 matchup...going 6 with no earned runs and going 8 innings giving up only 4 earned...for a total ERA of 4.96 (16 earned * 9 / 29 innings)...take away the 1 bad game and his ERA drops down to 3.13. I think it's probably a case of going against more modern teams like 1989 for example.

yea, I've noticed that, too. All I can say is they're leaving it all out on the field for the chance to become the greatest A's team ever!

But certainly, in the 1900s and such, it was not all that uncommon for guys to throw complete games most every time out.

It's the 1980s A's that are throwing CGs in the sims that are surprising.
