A's vs Rangers; 3 game set

Ok so this is a little late, but whatever.

Last nite was definately not our best nite, especially defensively. Four errors? Holy toledo. Hopefully today we can rebound and pull out with a win (maybe without errors?). Either way it looks to be a pretty good game.

    Today (5-3-08)
    Murray vs Gaudin

Gaudin has been lights out as of late, with his third consecutive win vs the Halos on Monday. Murray has yet to make a start in the bigs this year (this will be his first).

    Sunday (5-4-08)
    Feldman vs Smith

Feldman will be replacing the injured Jason Jennings, making his second-ever ML start. Smith was the hard-luck loser against the Halos on Tuesday, pitching eight innings of 2-run ball. He has never faced the Rangers, so this will be a meet-n-greet for both pitchers.

I think that we can take these next two games. Right now our only enemy is ourself. If we can overcome yesterday's loss (and make less errors!), then there's no doubt in my mind that we can take these two.

Tonight I hope the A's can bounce back and get Gaudin another W. Gaudin has been a surprise for my Fantasy team.

Tomorrow: Smith has been really good so far so I see the A's getting by in this one.

Ok well I guess I spoke a bit too early...we're down 5-3. Still a few innings left so maybe we can string some hits together and get the rest of the runs back.

Nope, doesn't look like a comeback yesterday. A's lose 6-3.

Ugh I go away for a couple days and we drop two in a row to the Rangers. ESPN called us pretenders this morning BTW.

I might take my kid over there today and we need a win.

Smith went 6 innings giving up the one solo homer...he did have 10 k's though

    Cust just hit a 2-run homer to make it 2 - 1 A's

Casilla threw another shutout inning in the 7th.

And we didn't have any errors! YAY!

All-around it was a great game for the A's. It was one we really needed to win, and we did. It's nice to see us winning the close(er) games. A good boost for our morale.

wasn't yesterday the $4 ticket debacle? The A's had that promotion where they were going to take a $1 off for every hit they had in the last game against the Angels...they had 20 hits.
