    He's Back?

Did I hear the radio correctly. The A's are going re-sign DH-Frank Thomas.

Just don't make much sense at all. Aren't the A's trying to re-build with young players?

They must need a HR threat in the lineup or something. If this is true. I just caught the tail end of the information as I was turning on my car. So, I may have just heard it wrong.

There is just speculation that the A's might have interest in the Big Hurt. Ok, that sounds about right to me then.

seeing how the A's have Barton and Mike Sweeney I can't say this makes sense to bring Thomas in

Maybe they are rebuilding by stacking up with as many DH type players as they can.

if they sign Thomas...a big "if"...Sweeney will be gone. Thomas/homers vs. Sweeney/average...that's the decision

Thomas puts more asses in the seats and right now the A's are tied for first. Plus they are dead last in the AL in homers. It makes some sense.

Yeah, but if Thomas continues to hit the way he was the Bluejays there could be a Manager vs. player argument in our future.

Thomas' production was right on track with what he has done his whole career.

    Re: He's Back?

Frank Thomas was close to signing with the A’s on Wednesday until another team made an offer at the last minute, a baseball source told Yahoo! Sports' Tim Brown.
Brown previously wrote Wednesday that a deal was set to be finalized, but the article was then yanked and has now been revised. The mystery team could be the Mariners or Rangers. Brown's article provides no clue.
    Interesting....

    Re: He's Back?

That article brings up a good point: he left Toronto because he was complaining of playing time. Now, he pairs up with Sweeney, both of whom are DH's, you'd think Thomas would get some assurance of playing time before he signs with a team. Should be interesting to see where this one goes.
