Calero is off the DL; Braden sent down. Not like Calero has done much anyway, but OK.

And like I said already, this is the day where Harden becomes a starter agian. He'll face off against King Felix, so this could be a tough game for both teams.

Harden pitches 2.2 innings, 5 hits, 4 er, 1 k, and 3 bb's on 66 pitches. Now let's wait and see how he feels.

I can't find anything online just yet stating how Harden feels. I'll keep my eyes peeled. Of course, today could've gone a lot smoother if those darn Angels didn't win.

it doesn't matter...we would have lost anyway. As far as Harden, I'm not really counting on the guy until he proves he's back healthy. I thought he did with ST and his first few starts...but nope. So he may never prove it to me. It just sucks to have such a talented guy, but not have him available. I guess this is somewhat how Cu-hubs fans feel.

OMFG Dan Haren is the starter for the AL team in the ASG! I know he's psyched. Swish went bizerk when he found out and hosted a party for Haren. This is Haren's ASG debut, and when I talked to him he was pretty psyched that he was starting. Congrats to Mr. Haren.

supposedly, the A's want to move Johnson to make room for Barton now. Also, teams are looking at Piazza and Shannon Stewart. This was from Buster Olney on ESPN...I'm not sure if this was radio or TV.

    Re: 2007 Regular Season Thread

Hmmm...well, Johnson had been slumping a little as of late, and Barton is just waiting for that call...I'm not quite sure here. If the A's really want to stay "in contention", don't you think they'd want a guy with more experience? Then again, if you're starting to think in the future, by all means bring that guy on up.

As for Stewart and Piazza, I really don't know. Stewart has really been the A's spark plug in their past like 2 or so weeks (14 game hit streak), and Piazza was just starting to heat up when he was injured. If I had to make a trade, I'd keep Stewart and trade Piazza. Cust is a young(er) guy and has a lot of pop and a good eye, while Stewart seems to be just what the doctor ordered for the A's. But I'm no GM, so this is all my wacked-out opinion.

They should get rid of Piazza. I didn't like that signing anyway. There's a reason why so many teams passed on him. I'd like to see Barton get some playing time, I'm excited to see what he can do.

Harden's injuries frustrate me to no end. I think it may be time to cut our losses and start fishing him around before he loses all his trade potential.

    Re: 2007 Regular Season Thread

I read that the A's could be potentially interested in guys like Lidge or Jaque Jones, while they'd be willing to trade Piazza, Stewart, or Kennedy, like Prov said.

About Harden going on the DL, here's some other news that happened on Thursday. The A's placed Donnie Murphy on the bereavement list, recalled JJ Furmakiak, and selected RHP Andrew Brown. The also transferred Duke to the 60-day DL. That's 17 times, for those who are counting. That also means that the A's have used a MLB-high 45 players this year (46 if Brown appears in a game). The are 4 away from the record they set in 1997 of 49 players. Holy toledo that's a lot.
