it's a couple BART stops down...not really far IIRC...it's closer to the area SF draws from, but still in the east bay.

I just noticed it's Fremont and not Freemont.

I was just in San Fran a month ago, the public transportation system is pretty kick ass.

not necessarily...it's closer to Silicon Valley...more corporate businesses and sponsorships.

Maybe they'll change to the "California A's"?

It would seem a bit weird for them to be the "Fremont A's"

There's no way they're called the Fremont A's; in fact I've heard they may retain the Oakland A's name. Whatever, f*ck the City of Oakland. Once the Raiders make a bid to move back to LA Oakland will be left with nothing. Serves them right and they get what they deserve. I don't blame the A's at all on this and I'm glad they're staying local.

I've heard the opposite ADH. Fremont and the A's to have something definitive...something with a clear distinction. I read Fremont A's or Silicon Valley A's...no way would they still be Oakland. And California A's would be lame and like the California Angels. Maybe East Bay A's? I dunno...just move back to Philly

    OAKLAND ATHLETICS OF FREMONT

And really, the whole Bay Area is densely populated. Fremont is a 15-20 minute drive down the freeway from Oakland, and a 5-10 minute drive up the freeway from San Jose. It won't make that much of a difference as far as attendance goes. This is just a really bad move on Oakland's part, not putting up the cash to keep the A's. Oakland is crappy enough as it is, it would've helped to have a beautiful new ballpark and a re-vamped A's organization in Oakland. But NO!

Here is some info for the new A's stadium.

    Cisco Field
