now dotel gets a chance to do what he couldn't do last night

Oh yeah, I forgot all the A's fans hate Foulke for his taking the money (I don't blame the A's fans one bit, nor do I blame Foulke seeing what the Sox did). That must be sweet, like Clemens for Sox fans).

Now each closer blew at least one game.

we offered him the same money or very close to it if I remember correctly, he just left because he wanted to play for them for some reason...

Well...can you blame him after 2004 if he did it because he wanted to play for the team?

He should have been fired long time ago.

Listen I am no Art Howe fan, but the way Beane treated Art in his time in Oakland was a disgrace. Why can't Macha get the same treatment? He is worse than Howe.

Mets could use Dotel, but then again, he stinks.

A's recall Matt Watson from Sacramento
    Jermaine Clark designated for assignment

The Oakland A's today (May 14) recalled outfielder Matt Watson from Triple-A Sacramento and designated infielder/outfielder Jermaine Clark for assignment.
Watson was batting .345 with three home runs and 20 RBI in 35 games with Sacramento. He was tied for the Pacific Coast League lead in hits (48), ranked third in runs scored (30) and was seventh in batting. Watson had hit safely in each of his final 10 games with Sacramento, going 22 for 43 (.512) with 15 RBI and a pair of four-hit games. The 26-year old left-handed hitting outfielder was claimed by the A's on waivers on October 9, 2003 and spent all of last year at Sacramento. He made his Major League debut with the New York Mets in 2003 and hit .174 with two RBI in 15 games.

Clark was selected from Triple-A Sacramento on May 2 and appeared in three games with the A's. He walked in his only plate appearance and scored two runs as he appeared in two games at second base and one game as a pinch runner. Clark was hitting .228 with 12 RBI in 24 games at Sacramento before his promotion to Oakland.

I can't believe we've lost 8 games in a row...where is the light at the end of the tunnel? Harden, Crosby, Swisher, Bradford are all out...we suck....I knew this year was going to be tough, but c'mon this is unacceptable

Chavez's struggles are especially disappointing. He's showing absolutely no signs of breaking out of his slump. I think this will be his worst season and how unfortunate if that's how it happens, considering his new contract started this season.
