I'll be at the game tonight so no gameday posts; it's fireworks night although we rarely stay and watch. Good seats behind home plate so it should be pretty cool (as long as we win ).

Is it a bad thing to suggest that the A's should sweep this series?

Kid, of course they should sweep, but the question remains if they will

Texas won 2 - 0 over the M's so we need to win to stay 3 games back. Angels are losing 3 - 1. A's trail 3 - 1 as well after 4 innings...we've left 7 runnes on bases...

Haren's night should be over after 6. He just struck out the side to give him 9 for the game. He's at 107 pitches. Only 2 earned runs tonight, but trailing 3 - 2.

well, macha is an idiot...he let Haren go back out there and he couldn't finish the inning...the Royals scored 2 more runs to make it 5 - 2 in the 7th...Haren finished with 122 pitches...4 earned runs now. Macha truly has no faith in the pen...Keisler came in and gave up a double to allow the 5th run to score...I'm out

That sucked and seriously it's painful to watch this team right now other than Swisher, Thomas and Chavez. The bottom of the order is killing us. We had runners on 1st and 2nd with one out in the first three innings and didn't do squat.

but don't you think Macha tried to squeeze too much out of Haren?

No doubt. I looked at my buddy and just shook my head when the pitch count was over 120.

It's time to break out the needle and get some real pitchers out there in middle releif. It was also frustrating watching KC pitchers pour fatass fastballs right down the heart of the plate only to see pathetic swings from a lot of guys on this team.

And for gawd's sake Ken, get Kotsay out of three hole.

as you can see from the thread I thought for sure Haren was done after 6...I was shocked to see him run out there for the 7th...he was already close 110...did Macha think he'd get a 5 pitch inning or something? I can understand his thinking...I just think it's dangerous to follow that kind of hopeful logic..."oh...let's try and get 1 more inning out of him...I think he can do it" I find it hard to believe that he felt 100% sure about that move...and I don't think too many people would have 2nd guessed him if he pulled Haren and then it fell apart...I know I wouldn't have.
