    Villone to the Yanks?

The Yankees continue to express interest in left-handed Marlins reliever Ron Villone. But it's unclear how much more cost-cutting the Marlins need to do, since the Boston deal and the deal that sent Carlos Delgado to the Mets have combined to clear about $30 million from their 2006 payroll already.

That's pretty much all you can say. He did good with Seattle, but not with Florida, and in spite of a decent reliever ERA last year, he had about 3 hits/walks/HBP per 2 innings, not an encouraging rate

You'd have to be a really shitty pitcher to be left handed and not have success in Safeco. I guess he's ok.

And the Yankees still got him for a decent deal.

well, he was decent in seattle (2.46 era, but he walks a TON of guys)... and his ops vs lefties was .200 points less than against righties... so hopefully joe wont let him pitch to too many righties. ben julianel is already 26, so its not like we broke the bank for him... if he works out... great, if not myers is still the lefty of choice.
