As the race approaches the 3/4 pole and the final stretch run of September, it comes time for the best to reach back and give it their all to reach the finish line and a position in the next race, aka as the playoffs. This is where the best rise to the top by WINNING, and in the end the rest go home. This is the greatest sport in the world.

I agree it is the greatest sport in the world.

I am not quite sure that the "Bronx Horse" has the big spurt at the end to win this derby.

41 games and we are within striking distance. This is an unusual position for us, as we usually are holding off the rest of the competition for the final stretch run.

I agree with the WhiteSox announcers, this team can win but is far from one of the better Yankee teams managed by Torre.

It is the only team with a non WIN METHOD player at a starting position.

Bernie is WIN METHOD and possibly Posada.

Also...the yankees are only .5 games back as of right now. I don't see how anyone can give up on them now. Plus if they win the WC they will have to play CWS most likely. Although they have been the best team so far I think that would be the best team to play in the playoffs. I would much rather take on CWS than BOS or LAA.

Holding the fort for the brilliant joek.....as they pass the 1/16th pole the and are in their final drive, the great champion steed has stuck his nose in front. Can he complete his drive to the finish line in front!
