    Agreed but its still $6 million they didn't have to waste. They were more than generous with the original offer.

    Giving more than their original offer, but still a lot less than Jeter's demand, is not giving in. That's called negotiating.

    Jeter wasn't in a position to negotiate in my view and that's what I disagree with. Yankees held ALL the cards and they caved when they didn't have to. Nice try though.

    I think Hollywood and I are trying to say the Yankees didn't cave, so it renders your argument invalid. I completely agree, the Yankees held all the cards. And they didn't cave. Therefore they won.
