A-Rod with a three-run homer in his first at-bat! First pitch! Top of the first inning! Damn.

Certainly has a flair for the dramatic, doesn't he? (Positive or negative)
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Nice little outing from Carsten Charles. The Yankees really needed that.

Odds A-rod goes a second straight day without being booed?

Well, he also had the 2 K's....

Damn, odds A-rod avoids boos for a full day at any point this season?

Nice comeback for Afraud! I was glad to see that reporters let him enjoy his comeback and not bombard him with steroid talk or at least I didn't see any. Sabathia also did the Yankees a favor by letting the bullpen rest.

A Wang-like outing for Phil Hughes, to say the least.

Which makes Sabathia's complete game all that more important. The pen is going to be used tonight for sure.

As if it couldn't get any worse, Joba might not be able to start tomorrow because of a broken blood vessel in his throwing hand.

Good start on friday w/ the opposite on sataurday. Hughes was awful but he needs to be given more time to prove himself. Hopefully Joba will be ok but what was thought to be a strength(SP) has turned into a major weakness so far.

As junc said, they need to keep Hughes up there. It would be nice if he could get the whole season there. He has clearly proved he can dominate triple A but has yet proved anything in the big leagues. The only way the Yanks can determine whether or not he is a big league pitcher is by giving him some time to develop into one up in the MLB. Hopefully he turns into the Phil Hughes the Yankees need him to be.
