He doesn't strike out as much because he doesn't get as much playing time.

+ rep, only Yankee fans would get me to think that a .246 career batter, is the next coming of Manny or Bay.

Who the hell said he's the next coming of Manny or Jason Bay? Where in God's name did you get that? I just said he's going to be solid. He's not anything that special.

And Reefer, he doesn't strike out at the same rate. Dunn strikes out in 26.4% of his plate appearances. Swisher strikes out in 21.4% of his plate appearances. So good job CJ for repping a false statement.

and as I post this, Nick Swisher hits a leadoff single off Andy Sonnanstine. Gotta love it.

Striking out 21.4% of the time playing part-time doesn't mean he'll strike out at 21.4% in full time duty, good part time players become average players, I expect Swisher will be striking out over 27% of his AB's as a full time player so it will be an accurate statement

More plate appearances=more strikeouts. And Swisher just singled on a 3-2 cockshot. I'd expect Randy Johnson to hit that one.

Wanna make a bet on it? We'll set the over/under at 25% of his plate appearances this year he strikes out. You take over, I'll take under

Clearly someone just doesn't understand the concept of percentages

No, I got it. You don't seem to grasp the more playing time, the more the percentage goes up.

Where does that have support? You just pulled that one out of your ass.

Speaking of pulling things out of one's ass...the next coming of Manny or Bay? Where in the **** was that said?
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Also, Swisher is 28 years old...so I dare I say there's a slight possibility, just slightly that Swisher's best days are ahead of him? I know it sounds crazy that Swisher is a good player, I know it must be an utterly insane statement...well, I guess I'm crazy.

How is that pulling that out of my ass?? He strikes out a lot so given more plate appearances he will strike out even more. Not hard to figure out

I just proved he doesn't strike out a lot. I don't understand what makes you think his PERCENTAGE of strike outs per plate appearance will go up just cuz he's starting. It doesn't change who he is as a hitter just by starting
