As a Red Sox fan, I can understand why your favorite part of the season is the offseason cause you know once the the season starts you'll be miserable again And the Yankees...will still miss the playoffs. And then you'll get excited next offseason and the cycle will continue

Miserable? I guesss Sox fans would know what that looks like but while last year sucked we still have made 3 WS and won 1 this dcade and won all but 2 div titles and made all but 1 postseason. Every team wishes they could be as miserable as that.

See the difference between you and us is that our payroll won't crack 200 mil, we actually compete when we are rebuilding, and you still have no depth so once your injuries pile up, you'll blame Cashman for your problems...

And I'm sorry but which team is returning everybody from a team that was 1 game from the World Series? The way you guys talk it makes me think the Yankees were in the playoffs but somehow I remember it differently

I love how Sox fans act like they don't spend. Your '04 title was almost all non-homegrown players, by your definition you bought a World Series title. I think Boston had 1 homegrown regular in the lineup.

Funny how missing one postseason in 14 years means the Red Sox are a better franchise than the Yankees.

To be fair the Sox have been better the past 5 years thanks to winning 2 WS BUt they also forget they missed the playoffs in '06. They act like they have a dynasty going when they had 2 titles in 4 years.

Well its actually wrong so let me give you examples on the 2004 Roster and I'll show you the homegrown players on it.

Lenny DiNardo
Kevin Youkilis
Derek Lowe
Jason Varitek
Trot Nixon
Nomar Garciaparra

And when we won the WS the payroll was only at 130 mil not over 200, which is very different. When I say BUY the WS, it implies you pay more than the bottom 2-3 payrolls on top of 2nd place.

And most of those WS appearances were 8-10 years ago, thats ancient history.
