    Lineup Pick your lineup

I was with LJ in the car on the way to Dave and Busters' today and Max Kellerman was talking about whether A-Rod or Texieira should be hitting 3rd. So it got me thinking, where should everyone be hitting now that the lineup is all but set?

Please pick one poll option for each player. You can post your full lineup. Here's what I'd like to see:

    1. LF Damon
    2. SS Jeter
    3. 1B Texieira (is more of a true 3rd hitter than A-Rod)
    4. 3B A-Rod
    5. DH Matsui
    6. C Posada
    7. RF Nady
    8. 2B Cano
    9. CF Swisher

My lineup is, of course, trying to give Cano a shot to rebound.

    No poll again?
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

So does mine, but you have to do it slowly, not throw him under the bus at the 6th spot and expect him to go back to stellar form. You gotta take the pressure off in the 8th spot.

I don't think putting a guy in the 6th spot should be seen as throwing him under the bus though. I mean, putting him a bit higher guarantees more chances to drive in runs and gain confidence. Also, if you drop him to the 8 spot, there's less protection. Pitchers will have to pitch to him with Posada and Nady coming up next. With Swisher after him, it's still some protection, but I think Posada and Nady may help him out a bit more.

Protection is a good point, but I think you need to get a better bearing of where Cano is. If he gets less protection, it should give a truer bearing of how he is as a hitter, without putting him in pressure situations

Sort of, but if he gets less protection you won't know if his (hypothetical) struggles are because of no protection, or because he's not as good a hitter as he appeared to be 2 years ago.

I think Nady can provide better protection than Matsui or Posada at this point. Both are huge question marks. Nady has more speed, hits well with RISP and is used to hitting fifth.

    Re: Pick your lineup

i see you added a 2nd lineup reefer.

Tex needs to be hitting 4th or 3rd I think. Need to get him as many AB's as possible. And after last year, I still have faith in Cano, but he can't be hitting 2nd right now. No no.
