Whats wrong with the Yankees??

Ok so being that we're past the half way point in the season, what would you say is wrong with the Yankees? Is it there to old or lack of pitching or Torre leaving for the Dodgers?

Here is what I think, say what you want but Torre leaving hurt the club. Age is a factor as well. There not getting younger! What about not getting Santana? Any effects there? Sure your club is 5 games over 500 but the injuries have to be taking a toll on the club.

What do you guys think the issue is?

Believe it or not but the Yankees are playing right where they should be. The only problem is that the Saux and Rays are better.

They are actually in better condition then they were in 2007 at this point. They still have one of the most fierce lineups in the game. The starting pitching is what I really think will be there downfall and also the improvement of the other teams in the division. I mean the rays are much improved, The Redsox are still great and the Orioles have really seemed to improved. And I think the Jays are still good. The A.L. East competion from top to bottom is fierce.

Also every single Yankee fan will point to our bullpen, the success of Farnsworth and of the whole staff as a sign that Girardi is an upgrade.

hells yeah. showed that one tonight. i got to see the veins popping out of his neck on my nice new HD tv it was priceless. he was the reason why the yankees won tonight. f*cking laz diaz...he tried to bait posada too. Posada argued a call, and then he stopped arguing and diaz kept mouthing off. Good think Jorge's a mature ball player.

The Yankees are fine, if they can get bhealthy for the 2nd half- at least get the lineup healthy they'll have a great chance to make the postseason again. They have lost Jeter, Arod, Posada, Matsui, Damon for long stretces and in the rotation we haven't had Wang in a while and won't plus we got nothing out of the young guys in the rotation. It's amazing we are only 4 games out in the L column from the WC lead which is alot closer than we were a year ago. We'll see what happens.


Oh and the pen has actually been good, yeah they've had some awful perfromances like every pen has but overall our pen has been a pleasant surprise especially after Joba moved to the rotation.

Every team has injuries. Its all about how you deal with injuries and having depth. Look at the Indians. They had injuries to key guys but had no depth to make up for it.

I'd love to be 37-51 and at the bottom of the division, but alas, we do have depth

I mean hell, we're better that 3/4 of the NL and near the top of the pack in the AL

Off topic here - it's very interesting that a self-claimed Yankees hater started the thread.

Of course it is mostly because of the injuries. There is never one season that a team is injury free for the whole year. It's "un-possible"!

The top two teams in every NL division had a losing record in Interleague Play.

Doesn't really bode well.
