Joba Chamberlain: Is there a problem with his intensity?

First off, credit to bwitty for inspiring me to make this poll.

The issue of Joba and his celebrating on the mound has come under fire recently. Everyone's seen it by now, if he strikes out someone for the third out he generally pumps his fist and gets intense. Maybe it's just me, but I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THIS IS A PROBLEM! Other players are intense too. Papelbon comes to mind for the Sox and I have no problem with that. It's a game and players are allowed to be intense! Sure, there's a limit to it, but it's not like any of this from Joba is a) premeditated or b) showing anyone up. It must be a real slow day in NY talk stations if this is an issue.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

This is ABSOLUTELY NOT A PROBLEM. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT, YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THESE THINGS:
    1) Sports
    2) Baseball
    3) Hormones, specifically, adrenaline
    4) Competition

He doesn't celebrate nearly enough. Yeah, he'll pump his fist at the occasional inning-ending strikeout, but dude needs to grab his crotch more, throw in some throat-slicing motions and maybe do the Degeneration-X crotch chops.

I have no problem with it. I mean, it's just being emotional which is an important part of the game. Of course, I also have no problem with Jose Reyes and his handshakes. I'm honestly worried about Jose losing his emotional edge. I'm pretty sure it won't happen, but I'm more worried about that than him upsetting some opponents

The only problem I see with Joba is that the Yankees think they can just slide him in the rotation. Joba is your future closer!

I actually would agree with you, but:
    1) we need starting pitching bad right now
    2) starters go for 6 or 7 innings, where as closers go for 1 tops. if you can get a guy to be either a dominant starter, or a dominant closer, i'd make him a starter any day

I honestly think they're going to leave him in the bullpen for the rest of the year, whatever they say...I think if they can find another good starter with Wang-Hughes-Kennedy for the future, it might not be a bad idea.

Yankees don't have a dominant setup man so he has to stay.

Hello! LaTroy Hawkins................NOT. This does pose a problem. But if Moose is on the downside or if one of the young guys falters, they might need him in the rotation as well.

Jake Peavy does it all the time (as seen in LTR's avatar)

Why are people making a big deal out of Joba?

Intensity is only a problem if you're Lastings Milledge.

Or Carlos Perez. Who was the kicker for the Cardinals that tore his ACL celebrating? Him too.
