Prediction: 1-for-3 with a walk, a strikeout and a double.

I can't believe that Matsui is back before Sheffield. When each of them originally was injured you would never have thought Matsui would be healthy before Sheff.

Hideki was unbelievable going 4 for 4 in his return w/ an RBI and 2 runs scored in last night's blowout. Matsui was the story but Abreu was the star driving in 6 in the 1st and 7 overall. Also, Jeter didn't get a hit but his streak remains intact b/c he didn't have an official AB having walked 3 times and HBP once before being lifted in the blowout. Click the link for the box:

Another game another win. Lidle has now pushed himself out of the hunt for the #4 job in October but the O bailed him out in an 8-4 win. Jeter extended his hitting streak to 22 games and is still 3 pts behind Mauer for the batting lead. click the link for the box:

Yeah Lidle is shitting the bed. Can't complain too much about him though. He has been very serviceable and provided some key innings for us.

This Bruney guy has been extremely impressive so far. If he continues this way he is going to be an excellent bridge to Mariano in the playoffs. Well see though, Torre is in love with Proctor.

    Torre scratches Wang

    The News
Starting pitcher Chien-Ming Wang was scratched from his scheduled start on Thursday because of wet weather, according to Yankees manager Joe Torre.

    Our View
Apparently, the Yankees wanted to avoid a situation where Wang pitched a few innings, was forced to wait out a rain delay, then possibly return. Rookie Jeff Karstens got the start against the Devils Rays instead.

We won our 6th in a row completing the sweep of Tampa(Remember how bad we struggled agains them last year?) and now if we take 3 of 4 games this weekend(and Toronto loses 1 game) we'll clinch our 9th AL East Title in a row. Jeter extended his hit streak to 23 and is just 1 pt behind Mauer for the batting lead AND Hideki got his first HR since returning. Click the link for the box:
