False Rumor Scares Mets Fans

The following was sent in e-mails and posted on blogs all over the internet this morning and early afternoon, but has been confirmed to be false, and should not scare any Mets fans any more.

An email that has been sent to me from multiple people…
AP (New York) - Sources have indicated that former CY Young Award winner, LHP Johan Santana, has requested a trade from the New York Mets prior to the July 31st MLB non-waiver trade deadline. Citing the Mets increasingly gloomy outlook coupled with their off field front office troubles, Johan Santana has requested the Mets to make trade inquiries on his behalf. Santana’s agent, Peter Greenberg, has yet to be reached for confirmation.

Thank Jebus that Johan doesn't want out. That'd be the end for me, I'm not sure I could enjoy baseball (for a while) if he asked out and actually got traded....
