    Rumor Mets Interested In Jenks?

SI.com's Jon Heyman says the White Sox are listening to offers for Bobby Jenks, and the Mets will attempt to trade for the 27-year-old closer.
The price would have to be extremely high. Jenks has been an elite closer the last two seasons, and he's still three years away from free agency. The White Sox would probably need Fernando Martinez in return to consider dealing Jenks to the Mets.
This doesn't make much sense to me. Why would the Mets trade top prospects when they can either get Krod, Fuentes or Hoffman?

The thought process is that the Mets don't have great prospects, so they wouldn't be giving up as much, and they'd save money.....but the White Sox aren't stupid. In the end either K-rod or Fuentes will realize that the Cardinals, Tigers, and Indians will not give them 13 mil per.....one of them will have to take slightly less money than they want to play in the big market for a contending team.

Trevor Hoffman would be perfect, he's everything Billy Wagner was, only slower.

Except Wagner maintained a good ERA and WHIP, while Hoffman had an ERA in the 3.70 range.....I'd take Hoffman, but other than blown saves, the stats are nowhere close.
