Wagner to the DL

Wagner has what the team is calling a "strained forearm." This is a huge blow. I know he's blown 7 saves. BUT, he still has a 2.30 ERA and is one of the only reliable arms in that pen. No one else on the staff has a save.

Heilman is likely to get the first shot at closing. Not sure if that's such a good idea, but I haven't totally lost faith in the man yet.

The Mets recalled Ruddy Lugo from AAA, who was a starter for the minor league team, but he will be put into the long relief role for the big league club.
