    Starting Lineup:
    Jose Reyes
    Luis Castillo
    David Wright
    Carlos Beltran
    Carlos Delgado
    Ryan Church
    Angel Pagan/Endy Chavez
    Brian Schneider
    Pitcher

    Bench:
    Angel Pagan/Endy Chavez(whoever isn't starting)
    Ramon Castro
    Ruben Gotay
    Marlon Anderson
    Damion Easley
    Anderson Hernandez(middle infield backup)

    Rotation:
    Johan Santana
    Pedro Martinez
    John Maine
    Oliver Perez
    hopefully, Mike Pelfrey

    Bullpen:
    Billy Wagner
    Aaron Heilman

Is El Duque in the bullpen to start the season for sure? I would think they would use him to start.

He's not, but I'm kinda hoping they do. He's just not ready to be pitching 5 innings yet. They'll probably start him, I hope we don't regret it.

Duque and Pelfrey both look like shit.

Give the nod to Duque for now, it's easier for the youngin to come in

Agreed with Dry that they both look like shit, but I'd give El Duque a little bit of time before putting him back in the rotation. Pelfrey looks awful, but it's gotta be someone.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

The only reason I went with Bat In The Pelfrey is because El Duque has yet to pitch for real. He lasted 3 innings in a minor league game if I read correctly, and I just don't see him being ready to be a starter come april.

El Duque pitched against the Cards yesterday and got his shit rocked as did Pelfrey. I see the Mets picking someone up to fill the rotation. I would switch Maine and Perez in the rotation.

Duque is switching his windup because of bunyan (sp) surgery, cut him some slack, he's a gamer.

    Then again, it's Pelfrey's time

El Duque was a gamer. Not so sure you can say that anymore. This is a guy who got hurt in pregame warmups in the postseason two years ago. Not exactly a gamer!

I have no problem with El Duque, but having pitched only 3 innings this spring, i can't pencil him in to start.

I liked Pelfrey but maybe he is best suited for a bullpen role. Maybe Schoeneweis could make a couple of spot starts until El Duque is ready.

    Mets Blog

According to the NY Post, if el duque is healthy, he leads Pelfrey in the race for the 5th starter. While I wouldn't be shocked to see any from a combination of Pelfrey/Duque/Jorge Sosa/Nelson Figueroa in the 5th starter spot, I like this decision(assuming, as he said, El Duque is healthy enough to go). I like El Duque, but he has to adjust to that new motion. Should be an interesting thing to watch over the next week or so before that spot comes up in the rotation.

Until El Duque's ready, I'd let Jorge Sosa get a few starts. Pelfrey's a bit of a mess at this point.
