Molina's Sim League 2050 Spring Training

Feel free to send all roster changes in now.

For Spring Training you have 2 options: Coach's and Default.

You can also make manual changes for a maximum of 5 players.

Manual changes means you can move development points around as you see fit. You can also sacrifice 5 points to teach a player a new position.

For hitters, the default is 5 points set to each of the following catagories: Contact hitting, Power hitting, Strike zone Judgment, and Defense. You can take points away from one area and move them to another. (For example, 5-6-3-6) just make sure they add to 20 and you're set.

You can also take 5 total points away and apply it to learning a new position.

Pitching categories are as follows: Pure Stuff, Pitching Velocity, Pitching Control, and Stamina.

If you wish to provide manual changes please do so in this thread.

You can ask for coach's decision along with your manual changes if you wish, but please specify in the same post as I'd have to hit the coach's button before making the manual edits.

Spring Training upload will be Tuesday July 30th at 9 am CST.

Does giving a batter 0 in eye/discipline help?

    What's the 0 for a pitcher?

    Stamina, I think.

The zero for Garvey is defense. He sucks there anyways so it's not a big deal.

The zeros for my pitchers are endurance. Two are relievers, no biggy. And I think I'm just going to convert Ryan to a bad ass closer

so we're only talking in terms of potential.

Where if a player is already sitting at 5-8-1-2 with a potential 7-10-4-3, you move it to 8-8-8-0 so they can reach a max of 8-8-8-2 if they were say 19 years old?

It can help accelerate development. Rare times they may gain talent. There is risk cause they can lose talent in areas you take away (endurance and defense will definitely suffer if you take away)

But I have the right idea? It's best to change a SP to a MR, or positional player to a DH this way?

    Re: 2050 Spring Training

I'm just doing that cause Garvey is gonna be my DH anyways and Ryan hasn't done well as a starter

    Re: 2050 Spring Training

If you have guys like that, it's not a bad idea. I wouldn't waste points on trying to teach a position player a new position. You can do that during the regular season by playing them wherever to try to learn with minimal risk
