2048 Extenstions and arbitration cuts: CLOSED

I'm posting this now to give everyone ample warning. As soon as the World Series is done I'm prone to roll the season over without notice at any time. I may still work extensions if I haven't gotten around to it yet, but I wouldn't count on that because I'd rather not have to finish up last second extensions before I can roll it over. So finish them now.

I'd get this done ASAP but, as is always the case at this juncture, we've all had plenty of time to do it.

There's no asterix. According to you everything that can go wrong happens to your team so you would have been swept out of round one anyway.

It's an asterisk, not an asterix... When you have to re-sim, anything could have happened differently. The Cubs walked all over 2 teams that shouldn't have even made the playoffs.

I am still awaiting the OOTP airplane crash of my team in this league though.

And for the uneducated / forgetful, this is not the first time something like this has happened and my team was hurt by it.

TPSL version 1.0 : My team just finished kicking OM's ass in the WS after he insulted Bruce Chen's honor and the file becomes corrupt. TPSL 1.0 is gone.

TPSL version 20 : Perennial division winner (8 in a row IIRC) when league file gets messed up and then Nick vanishes.

HSL (post OM) : League file gets mucked up under General's watch and we have to go back 2 years, which erases 1 of my 2 titles. Then league gets completely messed up and vanishes.

And now the recent file issue here. So you'll understand why I'm a little pissed off and why I said what I said about my team's luck.


Note: There have never been any issues like the above in TSSL when Redsfan ran it for a couple seasons, Kingdom ran it for a season or two, and in the approximately 25 seasons that I've run the league.

Yeah, I get why you'd hate the circumstances...even if none of that other stuff happened. I'd hate it too.

But that doesn't make it any less not my fault that my computer screws up and your team doesn't do quite as good and Montreal does better in the re-sim, nor does it make it any less unreasonable or less risky to other teams and their agendas for me to do what would have had to been done to keep the Mets (or the Blue Jays) in the playoffs.

And, truth be told, an argument can be made that I shouldn't even have to compensate GMs, but I do anyway primarally because I know I'd hate this too.
